Accuante (Isotretinon)

This is what the packing looks like. Getting the pill out is very hard. Alot of times I cut my fingers trying to pry the pill out.

Survival Kit

I keep these with me in my purse at all time. Having trouble finding Aquafor. Items include; Vaseline hand and nail cream, Bath and Body body cream, Rohto eye drops (sting when used), Carmex lip balm (not the best), Aquafina lip oil and lip balm (came in a 3 pack, not the best either), Cetaphil (gives a greasy feel). By month two, started using Clinique surge moisturizer instead of Cetaphil for face.

Acne status very bad. Lips are bleeding. Acne feels very hot and itchy (inflamed). Gets worse when I try to conceal it. Mood is still good. Easily burned and sensitive to hot objects (burned when holding hot starbucks tea). Acne on my back far far less, mostly just scars left.

May 27 2010

Worst acne yet. Constipation is better, no benefit needed. Plenty of water. Eating healthy, lots of fruits, cutting down the sodium. Starting to use Clinique moisture surge for face.

May 24 2010

Starting my second month. Boosted up to 80mg. Take two 40mg pills together at night. Cholesterol shot up from 196 to 237 ( I have a history of high cholesterol). Took beneiber for constipation, helped alot. No depression (even through finals). Soles of feet started to peel. Very thirsty. Cracks getting worse.

I was getting the dry lips and flaky skin. My acne seemed to be worse. Cetaphil felt too greasy on my face. My face wash that I kept clinque foaming cleanser. Some constipation. Easily cut fingers. Sometime I find blood from my nose, but not a nose bleed. Seasonal allergies started with excessive runny nose and sneezing, but could be to my benefit because my nose didn't dry easily.

April 21 2010

This was day 1 right before my first pill. I was prescribed 40mg.

About Me

So I'm starting this blog 5 weeks into the treatment (May 29th 2010). I have googled about accutane and found many different responses. Thought I'd contribute mine. Promise to keep it short and sweet.
I'm a 24 year old female, with moderate to oily skin. I mainly have acne on my face and back. I also have KP on my arms. The types of acne vary from cystic and nodule under my jaw to white heads and papules on my forehead, the right side of my chin and hairline. No history of depression. History of high cholesterol. Used to take Lipitor but discontinued three months prior to Accutane, to avoid any liver damage.
I started birth control pills with Accutane. Never took birth control before. Started with Ortho tri cyclen lo then switched to Ortho tri cyclen because I read that lo doesn't help with acne.
